Annual Youth Grant

NES&WGA will be presenting the annual youth grant at the 2011 New England sale. Three $150 cash awards are awarded annually to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding young men and women involved in the Northeast sheep industry for at least two years.

• Applicants must be at least 12 years old and not older than 18 as of January 1, 2011.
• Applicants must reside in one of the New England states or themselves or families are members of NES&WGA.
• We encourage all eligible youth to apply.
• The three winners of the Youth Grant will return to the NES&WGA Annual Meeting at Eastern States Exposition in July 2012 and make a presentation on how their grant money was used.

The committee looks at many things when considering to whom to make the awards. We are certainly interested in your work with sheep and agriculture and how it has benefited your life. The committee members want to remind you that they do look at the presentation of your application including neatness, spelling and punctuation. Although you must complete the application yourself, we encourage applicants to have an adult, such as a parent, teacher or leader, proofread the application.
